Our Mission
Protecting Paws for Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, operating in the State of Florida, dedicated to supporting domestic violence shelters in becoming or maintaining fear free pet-friendly environments.
Our mission is to ensure that families in crisis can stay together with their pets; preventing pets from being left behind and facing potential abuse, neglect, or even death, as well as avoiding being turned over to an already overpopulated and overburdened animal shelter system.

Helping where it matters
Our organization is determined to have a positive effect on these statistics by providing domestic animal-related support and services to domestic violence shelters at low/no cost thus freeing up their resources to support their residents and increase their capacity for more pets.
2025 Was a Great Year!
In our first full year, we...
- Grew into 8 counties! Now serving Citrus, Hillsborough, Marion, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota
- Provided thousands of pounds of pet food
- Provided hundreds of pounds of cat litter
- Provided dozens of beds, bowls, leashes, harnesses & collars, toys, litter boxes, crates & carriers, grooming & cleaning supplies and more
- Supported 69 dogs, 55 cats and a handful of other critters living in domestic violence shelters
- Provided supplies to dozens of survivors and their pets affiliated with our partners, but not currently living on property
- Provided veterinary care for 25 pets through our partners at Harmony Vet Care
- Launched an emergency foster network through our partners at BestyBnB
- Created a pet pantry at CASA Pinellas's Family Justice Center
- Appeared in several local news broadcasts. local publications and had a feature on our local PBS station

Our Vision
Protecting Paws for Life Sanctuary
Our organization is committed to purchasing property, within the State of Florida, providing forever sanctuary in a kennel-free environment to at-risk domestic animals. This property will also serve as overflow to our domestic violence shelter partners to accommodate additional pet housing for their residents.
In addition, we will also support local animal rescues by providing discounted board & train services.
