# Protecting Paws for Life

> Our mission is to support domestic violence shelters in becoming or maintaining pet-friendly environments, allowing families to stay together during crises.  Ensuring pets are not left behind in a situation where they will be at risk for abuse, neglect or even death as well as preventing them from being turned into an already overpopulated, overburdened animal shelter system.
